Periodontics, AGD Subject Code 490
Program Description:
Salivary diagnostics have the potential to transform periodontal care—but only if patients understand their value and clinicians know how to integrate the results into treatment decisions.
This course introduces the CLEAR Conversations Framework, a practical communication system designed to help clinicians confidently introduce salivary testing, gain patient acceptance, interpret results within the complete clinical picture, and translate those findings into personalized treatment recommendations.
Upon completion of this session, attendees should be able to:
Interpret salivary diagnostic findings alongside periodontal charting, radiographs, clinical examination, and patient risk factors to identify the primary biological drivers of disease.
Kalee is an accredited biological dental hygienist with over 20 years of experience in clinical dentistry and integrative health. She is one of only four Registered Dental Hygienists in Colorado certified by the lAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) — a certification reflecting advanced training in biological dental hygiene, with a focus on biocompatibility, oral-systemic health, and adherence to safe clinical protocols in a biologic dental setting.
Her work is grounded in a whole-body understanding of oral health, recognizing the mouth as a critical entry point to systemic wellness rather than an isolated system. Trained in biological dentistry and integrative nutrition, Kalee brings a preventive, root-cause-focused approach to patient care. She specializes in identifying how oral inflammation, bacterial load, and lifestyle factors intersect with metabolic, cardiovascular, immune, and musculoskeletal health.
Kalee is a speaker and educator known for translating complex oral-systemic concepts into practical, patient-centered strategies that clinicians can immediately apply in practice. Her lectures focus on oral-systemic connections, inflammation, salivary diagnostics, periodontal-systemic relationships, airway health, oxidative stress, and inspiring hygienist to expand their impact, elevate their careers, and rediscover purpose in their profession. Beyond clinical education, Kalee is passionate about inspiring hygienists to recognize their value, embrace their potential and build careers that allow them to thrive–not just professionally, but personally as well.
