Program Description:
The most difficult periodontal diagnoses are the ones that are not clearly slight periodontitis nor severe gingivitis. We will teach you how to diagnose and treat these tricky cases without fear and get the answer right every time. We will also spend some time teaching you how to talk to your patients about their periodontal disease and help you improve your case acceptance.
Upon completion of this session, attendees should be able to:
Learn how to more effectively diagnose and treat borderline gingivitis and periodontitis cases.
Utilize better language to help your patients own and choose to treat their periodontal disease.
Dr Souyias went to the University of Detroit Mercy for his dental education and graduated with his DDS in 2002. Immediately following dental school he chose to specialize in periodontics because of the pure passion he developed for that part of dentistry. He completed a three-year periodontal residency program at Oregon Health and Science University in 2005. Jason’s constant pursuit of excellence led him to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 2007. Jason’s passion for his profession is reflected in his desire to share it with others. He is a former Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Periodontology and Hygiene, at the University of Detroit Mercy and is a co-owner and co-founder of Referral Lab business analytic software. Dr Souyias regularly educates dentists and hygienists by giving presentations and is a former faculty member at the Pikos Institute. Dr Souyias is also in full-time private practice in Port Huron, MI. His office is known for their amazing case acceptance and communication skills, as well as their incredible patient experience. In their free time, Jason, his wife Paula, daughter Stella, and son Leo enjoy traveling, playing sports, and cooking. Homemade Greek food is one of their specialties. Dr Souyias loves to ski and scuba dive whenever the opportunity arises during his travels. He also competitively shoots sporting clays as a hobby.
Michelle n Jones has over 20 years of experience in dental hygiene. Michelle is a dedicated and compassionate clinician who takes pride in providing exceptional patient care through education, prevention and personalized attention. As the Hygiene Team Leader, OSHA officer, and a presenter at an Advanced Strategies for Treatment Coordinators in Chicago, she plays a key role in maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and clinical excellence both patients and team members. Throughout her career, Michelle has developed a passion for connecting the dots between oral health and overall wellness-helping patients understand how conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular health, and systemic inflammation can impact smiles and quality of life. Her approach to dental hygiene is centered on empowerment-ensuring each patient leaves educated, supported and confident in maintaining their oral health outside of the dental chair. Beyond her professional achievements, Michelle has been happily married for 25 years and is the proud mother to three wonderful and beautiful children. She cherishes family time, values meaningful connection and brings the same warmth and dedication to every aspect of her work.
